Coconut Grove

“The Grove” coconut grove map

Hands down the most unique neighborhood in Miami.  Coconut Grove is surrounded by a lush tropical landscape, only a stone’s throw from Biscayne Bay and less than 15 minutes from the heart of downtown Miami.  This village embodies the free spirit of the eccentric “Grovites” that inhabit the area. It’s not unusual to find street performers, artists, chanting Hare Krishnas and spinning rickshaws riding down the street. Simultaneously the Grove proudly promotes the luxurious South Florida lifestyle with its high end boutiques, two open air malls, al fresco dining and a lively nightlife, inviting the likes of celebrities and tourists from all over the world who want a closer look at this inspiring haven.  Many events are hosted in the Grove each year, including the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival, parades and street closings for local foot and bike races, parades, and Fourth of July fireworks displays.

Originally settled in the late 1800s the Grove is a special place.  Its residential areas are mostly comprised of luxury homes nestled among narrow streets, most of which are entirely canopied by the dense native vegetation.  Simply put it’s a treasured gem of Miami.
