“The Village of Parks”
A fantastic family friendly neighborhood, located south of downtown Miami, Palmetto Bay is the area east of US1 from SW 136 Street to SW 184th Street east to Biscayne Bay. It’s lovingly nicknamed the “Village of Parks” as a result of the 6 park facilities offering recreation activities and preservation of the natural environment. In addition there is a brand new neighborhood library.
It’s a young city, incorporated in September 2002. Little details around the town distinguish it from other local areas, such as the signature blue street signs, and other beautification projects, like traffic circles to ease the flow of traffic. It’s 25,000 residents are lucky to call Palmetto Bay home. They also boast excellent schools, scoring the grade of “A” under the State of Florida’s A+ plan. There are also several excellent private schools located there.
