Here in Miami, we’re known for going over the top in all facets of life, and holiday celebrations are no different. So, when Easter rolls around, get ready for some truly epic Easter egg hunts and outdoor extravaganzas featuring rides, games, sweet treats, and entertainment for all ages.
And yes, the Easter bunny will be in town – along with some other furry friends – so little ones will surely be delighted.
Here are our favorite Easter festivities in the Magic City:
If you love sunflowers, they’ll be everywhere you turn at the Berry Farm down in the Redland, which will be holding its 5th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza from 9am to 7pm on weekends from April 12 to 20. Easter egg hunts will be organized for different age groups, and the farm also offers hay rides, gem mining, pony rides, and live music all day long. The little ones can also snap photos with the Easter Bunny and explore an adorable chick and bunny petting zoo.
On Saturday, April 12th, head on over to Bayside Marketplace for five hours of family-friendly fun. Beginning at 11am, kids can enjoy all sorts of spring-themed activities along with arts and crafts, a bounce house, potato sack races, and even a hula hoop contest. There will also be plenty of delicious refreshments, ongoing raffle contests, and live entertainment. The Easter Bunny will be available for photo ops right after each of the three egg hunts for different age groups.
For a more elegant Easter celebration on the water, the Seafair Grand Luxe mega yacht will be hosting two cruises on April 20th: a lovely Easter brunch from 11am until 3pm, and a festive dinner from 6pm until 10pm. Either way, you’ll cruise along Miami’s iconic Biscayne Bay, enjoying live music, a warm ambiance, and plenty of space for the kids to run around. A photographer will be on hand for each cruise, ensuring you make unforgettable memories with your loved ones on the only 5-star event vessel in Florida.
Who says human beings should get to have all the fun on Easter? On Sunday, April 6th, head up to Lauderdale’s LauderAle brewery and taproom will be holding its 2nd annual Doggie Easter egg hunt from 1pm to 4pm. You and your pup will search high and low for colorful eggs hidden all across LauderAle’s vast indoor and outdoor spaces. There will also be refreshments courtesy of several local vendors. Since some dogs tend to get a little over-excited when it comes to hunting (a.k.a. “retrieving”), each pup will be limited to 8 eggs each.
The Always Hope Easter Run is a stress-free private event taking place at Playita Key Biscayne on Saturday, April 19th. With runs either 5K/10K or Half Marathon in length, participants are welcome to run, walk, or hop their way to the end of the run. Participants under 18 are welcome with a parent or guardian, and there will be Easter eggs for the little kids to collect along the way. Tickets are $45 for the 10K (the most popular one), and you’ll get a running t-shirt, along with a finisher’s medal shopped to your address the week of the race. We recommend snatching yours up now since this is a popular event that always sells out fast!
Originally founded in 2000, Dance NOW! Miami is hosting a special open air performance on Sunday, April 20th at Miami Beach Botanical Garden as part of their annual collaboration with the South Beach Chamber Ensemble. The event is completely free of charge, and it runs from 4:30pm to 7pm. So, invite your friends and family to what promises to be an unforgettable multi-sensory experience that stretches the boundaries of musical theater.
On behalf of the entire Kern Team, we wish you and your family an egg-cellent Easter! As experts in all things Miami, we take great pride in helping our neighbors stay informed with what’s going on around our beautiful city.
