What Makes a Neighborhood Right for You?

(i.e. schools, green spaces, location, etc)

Sometimes you just happen upon a neighborhood that just feels right for you. That’s great, but if you’re moving to a new area, you might not be able to wait to luck into an area you love. It’s good to think through your big wants and needs for a new neighborhood to go over with your real estate team. The Kern Team is very familiar with Miami and South Florida neighborhoods. We’re from here, we live here! Letting us know the things that are important to you will help us find your home.

Location & Atmosphere

We’ve all heard the adage that location is the most important part of real estate. And it’s certainly true, though the perfect location for one person could be the worst for someone else (for exactly the same reason).. For most people being within a certain proximity to either work, or the beach, or maybe to family is a big consideration and impacts the value of a home for them. Sometimes you want to be central to a few places. We can help you pinpoint the perfect place for you and your family.

Beyond the physical location, what does that location look like? Do you prefer quiet residential only neighborhoods, or do you like the hustle and bustle of mixed use areas? Regardless of how you answer, we always encourage our clients to check out a neighborhood at two key times: when school’s are letting out for the day and Saturday evenings.. This will likely give you a good idea of what to expect on a regular basis.

Amenities & Schools

If you have school-aged children, the local school (either public, charter, or private) your new neighborhood is in should be something you consider. If you need help looking at school information, we can help with that.

Neighborhood amenities may not be your biggest consideration, but it’s a good one to use if you need to make a comparison list! Older neighborhoods, like Coral Gables, tend to have smaller lots than, say Pinecrest. If being able to walk to a park close by is something you love to do your Realtor needs to know that. Or maybe you’re set on a neighborhood with a community pool or recreation area.

Finding the right neighborhood for you is the first step to finding the right home. The Kern Team is here to help. Reach out to us today, let’s get started!
