5 Can’t-Miss South Florida Summer Festivals
With the summer sun heating up, that doesn’t mean we have to slow down completely. There are still plenty of can’t-miss summer festivals that are sure to please no matter your interest or age. So why not make the best of the heat by looking forward to some fun? Here are five South Florida festivals you should be sure to check out this summer:
Redland Summer Fruit Festival
Hit up the Redland Summer Fruit Festival on June 22-23, 2019 for the unofficial kick-off of fruit season. Aside from showcasing all the best of South Florida fruit, you can also sample wine, seasonal treats, smoothies, and more. There is also a kids’ activity area with a petting zoo, pony rides, and a watermelon-eating contest.
Independence Day On July 4th, you’ll be able to find all kinds of festive activities and events up and down the South Florida coastline. Want to get out of dodge? Make a day of it and head to the annual fan-favorite celebration at Delray Beach. Staying in town? We’ll see you out at the Biltmore Hotel for the fun!
International Mango Festival
Because in Florida, we just can’t get enough of our local fruit… Head to the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables the weekend of July 13-14, 2019 to experience all things mango. From tastings, lectures, cooking classes, music, activities for the kids, and more, the whole family will enjoy this fabulous annual event.
Miami Salsa Congress
One of the largest Latin music and dance festivals of its kind, the Miami Salsa Congress hits Miami Beach for 5 days, July 24-28, 2019, and features top salsa dancers, musicians, DJs, and other Salsa talent from around the world. Youth and teenagers also have an opportunity to participate by registering for the Miami Salsa Congress Kids Experience.
Key West Lobsterfest
If crustaceans are your thing, be sure head down to Key West August 8-11, 2019 for the 23rd annual Key West Lobsterfest. There will no doubt be plenty of lobster as well as a full line-up of entertainment and events.
