Best Places to Have a Sweet & Safe Spooky Season
Spooky Season is upon us, and we’ve put together a list of events and places to go haunting safely. Whether you take the little ones out for an early night or celebrate through the witching hour, we want you to have a safe and fun Halloween.
Here are some hot spots to hit up:
1. South Miami
Miami Kids’ Magazine is hosting their annual Safe Streets Halloween on Halloween day from 4-7pm on Sunset Drive. This free, all ages event includes trick or treating, a costume contest, live entertainment, and pumpkin decorating.
2. Coral Gables
If your Halloween goal is to bring in the ultimate candy haul, Coral Gables should be on your list of places to stop. Parade your costumes around the shops and restaurants of the Miracle Mile, and maybe even enjoy dinner out before you head home with all your sweets.
3. Pinecrest
As one of the most popular areas for young families due to its excellent schools and safe streets, Pinecrest is a great place to take children for Halloween fun. On October 29th from 5-7pm head over to Evelyn Greer Parkfor “Track or Treat.” They will have everything you need for a spooky good time – just make sure to bring your own treat bag! The event will be capped off with a screening of Casper in the park starting at 7:30pm.
4. Coconut Grove
This historic area is a wonderful place to go on a trick-or-treat walk. Along with historic homes, there are plenty of shops and entertainment. CocoWalk will no doubt be rocking. Stop there early to avoid crowds.
5. Palmetto Bay
The Coral Reef library branch will be hosting a Halloween Spook-tacular on the 31st from 4:30-6pm. They’ll have not-so-scary stories and costume contests for the little ones. This event does have limited space, so register soon to secure your spot.
If you want to make a night of it stop by Harvest Fest at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church from 6-8pm. Their event is designed for young children (age 2 – 5th grade) so they request no scary costumes. Admission is free & refreshments will be available to buy.
6. Cutler Bay
Stop by Cutler Ridge Park on Friday, October 28th for their fun family event also called Halloween Spooktactular! They’ll have games and activities for all ages from 6-10pm.
If you want to leave your little ghosts and goblins at home to splurge a Halloween date night, Halloween at the Biltmore is happening Friday, Oct. 28th. This ticketed event will have food, libations, and plenty of fun, including costume contests. You’ll want to be dressed to impress for this night to remember!
