What You Need to Know About Living in Pinecrest

As one of the most desirable suburbs in South Florida, Pinecrest continues to attract homebuyers from all over the country. If you’re thinking of settling into this affluent, family-friendly village, it’s very helpful to know the locations of important places like schools, grocery stores, parks and shopping centers. While some people prefer to live in proximity to these places, others may choose to distance themselves from Pinecrest’s busiest areas so they can take advantage of its famously quiet tree-lined streets.

Grocery Stores in Pinecrest

Two of Pinecrest’s most popular grocery stores – Whole Foods and Publix – are located in the same general region. Whole Foods can be found on SW 104th Street & US 1 (104th is an easy street to get across US1). Publix is just a quick jaunt south of Whole Foods – at US 1 and SW 132nd Street.

When you’re looking for the nearest Costco, you’ll be going to Kendall – the corner of SW 137th Avenue and SW 120th Street.

Top Schools in Pinecrest

A huge reason Pinecrest is so attractive to families is its concentration of marvelous schools. Gulliver Preparatory School is among the highest rated private schools in the state of Florida, and its two main campuses are located in Northern Pinecrest on SW 88th Street, towards Dadeland and Kendall. Just 10 minutes South of Gulliver Prep is Westminster Christian School, located on the border of Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay.

As for public schools, Pinecrest Elementary (part of the Dade County School District) is located just five minutes up the road from Gulliver Prep.
